Went to Belleville on Monday August 29th to visit my friend Ja Mac (also known as Jason MacIntosh) we had a nice visit and during the day I went to Prince Edward County and visited 4 of the local wineries. Even though the wineries are relatively new to the area and area building their reputations they each had some unique wines and all that I tasted were very good. Purchased a couple of bottles to enjoy later.
I spent two days in Belleville and had intended to head toward the Niagara area to visit some of the wineries in that area but decided that since my route home will take me that way I would take the northern route back to Petawawa through Barrie and and Algonquin Park.
I made to Barrie about 3pm and was heading into a parking lot to stop for a bite to eat when my coolant from my radiator blew all over the front of my vehicle. I checked it out and what happened was….when I had an oil change completed the previous week at the Pembroke Canadian Tire they did not put the Radiator cap back on properly almost causing a near catastrophe. It was extremely lucky that I going slow and in a major center when this happened. If I had been on the highway I can only think how bad it would have been. I am extremely lucky but completely pissed off at Canadian Tire in Pembroke for the shoddy workmanship. “They will be hearing from me”
After the scare we made it back to Petawawa on Thursday and went camping for the long weekend on Friday to Driftwood Provincial Park. It is a nice quiet park on the Ottawa River with lots of trees for shade and a nice beach area. This week we head to Toronto for a visit with friends and then next weekend I am heading to Sandusky, Ohio to Cedar Point My good friend reminded me about the park and the rides so I could not go by and not visit.
I will let you know what I think of the park once I have tested all the rides.
