I have not visited Edmonton since December 2002 so I was looking forward to seeing my Aunt Pauline and my cousins and their families. I have three cousins David and his wife Wendy and they have two boys Shawn and Tyler, Kathy and her husband Neil and there two sons James and Warren and my cousin Richard and his friend Keith. On Friday we had a nice dinner with Richard, Keith, Shawn and Tyler. Then Tyler and I went to a pre season hockey game on Friday between Edmonton and Calgary and of course Tyler who is 18 is an Edmonton fan. Made for an interesting time as I wore my Calgary jersey.
On Saturday we went to Pigeon Lake where Wendy and David have a lot with their trailer. My Aunt had said it was going to be pretty cold so I said if the sun was out I would go into the lake. My cousin Tyler said if I went in he would go in as well. After we got to the lake the sun was out and so I had to follow through and go into the lake. Tyler never thought i would actually go into the lake but he was right there beside me as we walked out into the lake and then sat in the cold water for a few seconds. Had a very nice day and Tara got along very well with both their dog Sadie and one of their cats Clyde. Clyde was very funny he kept trying to rub up against Tara and she was not interested in him at all, it was quite entertaining. Sunday we had a nice visit with Kathy and Neil.
On Tuesday I contacted my friend Sean Bosko who has moved to Edmonton to run a Booster Juice franchise. I was happy to meet up with him and spend some time visiting. On Friday Sep 23 Tyler and I drove to Calgary to watch another pre season game between Calgary and Edmonton, two games in 1 week boy am I glad hockey is back!
On Saturday we went to the Baptism of Warren’s daughter Abby (She’s a cutie) in a new catholic church St Charles Catholic Church.
Sunday Sean and I went to an Alberta Junior Hockey game between the Calgary Canucks and Sherwood Park Crusaders. The game was good until the third period when the referee took over and started calling all kinds of things against Calgary. It made the third period really painful and cost Calgary the game.
I left Edmonton on Monday the 26th and headed for home.
