I was watching TV and puttering on the computer so when the show I was watching was over I just left the TV on the station it was on and the news came on. I was kinda listening but not really paying attention to what was on until the sports started. As this was an American broadcast I kinda knew that they may or may not talk about hockey, but still I started to watch. They started off with baseball and even though the baseball season has started in the last week the sportscaster was excited that Boston was 5 and 1 and looks like they will be heading for the World Series. Initially I thought he was kidding then he brings up the standings and shows where they are in the standings. Then he mentioned the basketball and local basketball and finally as a passing comment he mentioned the Stanley Cup finals would be starting soon.
Ok I know hockey is not high priority on a lot of US sportscasts even though it is more exciting to watch than baseball which takes a close second to watching paint dry. So back to this sportscaster he finished the broadcast by discusing the ball season and how well Boston is doing this season. Umm excuse me but don’t they have another 156 games to play and maybe just maybe this idiot should wait till they played say another 10 or 20 games before he starts getting excited. Oh by the way this was a Boston station I was watching.

OK thats Boston they report on their team like that every year and they hadn’t won a series in like 90 years. Not to mention they are crack heads.
If you want the honest truth. Hockey never gets a mention unless one of three things happens. Your team gets to the Finals (the playoffs aren’t good enough to mention.) 2. Some HUGE beatdown happens that involves either A. a crowd member or B. a referee or 3. Baseball and or Football players are playing hockey.
