Sometimes I am embarrassed to admit I am a Canadian. The Canadian Federal Government which should be concerned with running the country has instead decided that is it a MAJOR issue who was selected to be Team Canada’s Captain at the Hockey World Championships. This is such a huge issue that the members of Hockey Canada, the organization which runs the National Teams for both Men and Women’s hockey are being forced to appear before a Parliamentary Committee to explain why Shane Doan is not only on the team but why is he the captain. This all stems from an NHL game 18 months ago held in Montreal where it is alleged that Doan made a negative comment aimed against French Canadians. The NHL investigated and cleared all involved and the issue is closed. Except to the Federal Political Parties who are looking for votes in Quebec.
Now our Federal Government which obviously does not have anything more important on their plates sees this as the most pressing issue in our country. Note to Federal Government how about those gas prices eh!
Somehow I must be missing something, I think Guy Fawkes had the right idea.

Noooooooooooooooo, youcan’t say that! I have been living in the U.K here which is really useless and I always point out ” they wouldn’t do that in Canada”.
