Hope River Classic 2 Completed
August 29, 2007 | Category: Personal, Random Thoughts
Sorry I have not been posting as I have been strangely busy. I can say there is some good news on the horizon and some incredible news but more on that later. I am told I am a tease, I do not see it.
The Hope River Classic took place on August 18th and thankfully the threatened rain did not happen so we had a nice day with a slight breeze. I think the weather may have stopped some folks from attending but still around 300 people participated and on the day it was announced that over $22,000 had been collected so far. After the participants who either, wheeled their chairs, ran, walked or bicycled the course were greeted with some live music, the smells of hot dogs on the BBQ and children playing and getting their faces painted. It was very nice to sit and watch people of all ages and all levels of physical abilities as they came into the finish area all with great big smiles.
The event is well organized and everyone had a good time while we raised money for such a great cause. Brad Hagkull and his organizing committee did an incredible job and the volunteers some of whom I had the pleasure of working with , are all a great bunch of people. A great day for a great cause.
