The Commute

October 3, 2007 | Category: Personal, Random Thoughts

Now that I am commuting to work I get to see the best and worst of humanity. Mostly the worst and then some. Today for example I am listening to tunes on the radio and immersed in the drive just passing an off ramp when all of sudden the car in front of me makes a radical turn and hops the curb at speed as he tried to get onto the off ramp. His car, a very nice VW Passat bounced in the air and luckily landed back on all four wheels. As I watched the driver started pounding his steering wheel and then drove off. I cannot help but think just how lucky this moron was and if he pulls that kinda shit what else does he do. In my estimation he is a menace and should not be on the road. Now before you message me and say maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe he was late for work or possibly a loved one was in hospital and he was rushing to their side. None of that can be used as an excuse if you drive like a moron you do not deserve the right to drive.

I get to see lots of different examples of poor driving and am probably guilty of not giving my full concentration to the road, but at least I try my damnedest to ensure I and my fellow drivers make it to our destinations in one piece. If someone has not already written it, a Driving for Dummies should be required reading for these morons. Not that I am sure that it would help any.
