Tara Has an Owie

My baby monster has an owie and I am very upset. First some history, Tara has had a wart or cyst on her neck for quite sometime and the vet has indicated it is alright. So fast forward to present day and I came home from work on Tuesday and found that Tara had a small amount of blood on her neck. Upon closer examination it looks like she has scratched the wart and it is bleeding a bit. So I clean and dress the area and watch her for the night and she seems to be alright. When I come home on Wednesday I see the area is still got some blood around it and she is obviously scratching the area. Again I clean and dress it and things seem to be alright until Thursday. I come home Thursday and immediately see a large area of bleeding on her neck which I clean and dress and decide that I will take her to the vet the first opportunity I can get in for an appointment. I could just say it is an emergency but it really isn’t.

On Friday I took her to work with me, the benefit of being the boss I guess and she wandered around the office with her bandage, getting all kinds of sympathy from everyone. I tried to make an appointment with the vet for Friday but Saturday morning was the soonest they could fit us in. Finally we went to the vet and he cleaned up the wound and gave me some cream to help with the healing. Of course as the wound heals it gets itchy so poor Tara is going crazy trying to scratch her neck and I am trying to stop her from making things worse. If this does not heal properly then she will need surgery and that is not something I want to put her through. So needless to say I am concerned for her and am worrying that this could get worse.
