When I was very young and living in Europe I was fortunate enough that my parents wanted to educate my brother and myself with as much history as possible. I can remember going to a graveyard in Holland and being told this was a Canadian Army Graveyard. At the time I did not understand or appreciate what I was seeing as I looked at row upon row of white grave stones with the Maple Leaf. Now as I think back I have a better understanding and a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by the men and women of the Armed Forces.

>rent a car bulgariaded I would do some cleanup and organization and follow the rule that my brother, Steven keeps telling me to use. If you have not used it in 6 months get rid of it. Ok so maybe I am not adhering to the rule completely but for me I think I am doing alright.

It is interesting some of the things you find and of course you find things you were looking for and could not find in the past. Always seems to be the case that I will start on something and then something I find changes my focus. I was determined that this time I would stay focussed and for the first couple of hours I was successful until I came across my camera book and started to look through it. Now this is not the first time I have looked at this but it has been quite sometime since I opened it. So I started reading through it and before I knew it I had wasted over an hour.

Damn I have to learn to keep my focus, after digging through my stuff I still have to decide what I will keep and what I will give away or throw away. It is easier to make these decisions when the stuff you are looking at is not your own. I think I need someone who is not attached to this stuff and then this should be easier.

I visited the hospital this morning for a CAT Scan of my back as my doctor wants to see if there is any nerve damage causing my left foot problems. Now I do not have a problem getting up early but since the hooligans were out last night late the noise level made it a little tough to sleep. Oh well I get to hear in about a week the verdict and then see what the doctor has in store for me. Guess my body is rebelling a little or maybe a lot

Not much to report been very busy with work and not been up to much. Nothing really exciting going on at the moment.

This reminds me of a couple of books I read over the past few years including Tom Clancy’s Debt of Honor which portrays an attack on the US and the West which includes bringing down the stock exchanges. Interesting idea and it will be interesting to see what the results of the investigation are or if they are even released.

Some dates have special meaning for different reasons. We have wedding dates, birthdates etc etc, you get the idea. Two dates are special to me August 15th and September 14th, seven years ago I lost my parents, my Dad on August 15 and my Mom on September 14th. I am never sure what my state of mind will be or what I will be doing on those days. One thing I do on these days is take sometime and think about them. Today I spent a quiet day at home and after dinner as I sat outside with Tara I started to think about them and realized Tara was 6 years old when they left us. I also realized I have done a lot with my life in the last seven years and have changed a great deal. I would like to think I have done some good things which would make them proud and even though they are no longer with us I believe they are a part of me and hopefully make me a better person.

Ok so maybe this is not the most appropriate subject or the most appealing but so what.

Not that I think about the subject but recently I was thinking for someone who is so small and weighs so little she sure does poop a lot. Tara weighs less than 10 pounds but she produces quite a bit of poop, each trip out she goes and will go multiple times. So my question is where does it all come from because she does not eat that much and as soon as she is done eating she has to go out. Not much storage space so where does it all come from.

NO CHEATING

What does next year have in store for me?
I’ll Stand By You (The Pretenders)
Hmmm we’ll see.

What do I say when life gets hard?
While My Guitar Gently Weeps (The Beatles)
Sounds like violins to me.

What do I think when I get up in the morning?
Amazing Grace
Amazing that I woke up…

What song will I dance to at my wedding?
Kids in America (Kim Wilde)
It’s got a beat.

What do you want as a career?
Smoke on the Water(Deep Purple)
I am always in search of the perfect beach?

Your favourite saying?
My Immortal (Evanescence)
I am going to live forever?!?

Favourite place?
An American Trilogy (Elvis Presley)
I kinda thought my favourite place would be an exotic beach on a island somewhere but I cannot argue with Elvis. So maybe my favourite place is Memphis you know Graceland where the King lived?

Where’d you go for a road trip?
Go On Your Way (Fleetwood Mac)
The song tells me to go my own way so I would say where ever the road takes me I will go.

What would you listen to while driving?
California Girls (Beach Boys)
Depends on what she looks like I may listen or I may not.

Not that I want to sound like a broken record but I cannot beleive how busy the last several weeks have been. After working the full Labour Day weekend I figured things would slow down a bit. No such luck, last weekend on Saturday was our company golf tournament and on Sunday I had to go into town to have dinner with my boss so no downtime for little ole me.

Now this weekend our facility is on alert as one of our customers has a facility in Texas in the path of Hurricane Ike and we may be tasked to deploy equipment to ensure they are up and running as soon as possible after the storm passes. This means we spent a late night last night getting the equipment ready and now I am on standby to goto Texas with the equipment at a moments notice. Oh well I am always up for a road trip. I hear Texas is nice this time of year

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get to stay home and avoid this road trip.

The past few weeks I have been working long hours and most nights been at work after everyone else has left. On Friday I was in my warehouse checking a few things when I looked around and realized not only was I alone but if something were to happen no one would know anything happened until Tuesday. While this in itself is sad the saddest part would be Tara would be alone for 3 days and probably not make it.

I have been so busy with work and in the past couple of months and weeks helping with the organizing of the Hope River Classic. This is the third annual event which is in support of the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of British Columbia. This year as well as the local event held in Chilliwack there were events held across the country from Nova Scotia to Alberta.

The Chilliwack event had about 325 participants and raised at last count over $25,000.

I had some great intentions to post all kinds of things including (I am embarrassed to say) the final stop on my Bourne World Tour. That post is coming but some reason I have not had much time in the last 5-6 weeks to accomplish much on the blogging front. A simple question is why, what the heck have I been doing to keep me from blogging about my exploits?

There has been some things going on including being very busy at work which translates into long days and a very tired Aargh. I figured I would post an update and see where things go from here.

The saga of my wrist has continued and last Monday I went for a Bone Scan in Surrey Memorial Hospital. They inject Radioactive tracer into the opposite arm and quickly take some pictures then you wait 3 hours and more pictures are taken. This all went well and as I was leaving the hospital I felt kinda funny and as I stepped around some folks standing on the sidewalk I fell and cut my knee open. Oh yes I also put my right hand down again so yes I hurt it again. Luckily this time it only hurt for a couple hours and did not swell. I had to wait till this Friday to get the results and visit my doctor. The results, well apparently the Radiologists cannot agree if the bone has a break but the consensus is as I am pretty much pain free and have full mobility any pain is from ligament damage.

This takes me to something I have been noticing for the last 9 or 10 months and is related to my wrist issues. As I was born with Spina Bifida I have a few challenges with my left leg and left foot which causes me to experience some weakness and lack of control of my left foot. When I was much younger I tended to fall a lot as I would either twist my left ankle or misstep and fall. This caused a lot of skinned and bloodied knees and ripped pants. Over the years I learned to adjust and would concentrate and pay attention when I walked and in the last 10 to 15 years I noticed that I was no longer falling. I would still twist my ankle but would not lose my balance and fall. That is until last summer and over the last several months I have not only twisted my ankle several times I have fallen multiple times with the worst being in March when I broke my wrist. As I am seeing a pattern I am quite concerned and will now be visiting an orthopedic specialist to see what is up with my ankle. More fun and games but I guess as this is causing me to fall it would be the best way to help my wrist stay healthy.

Wish me luck!
