WTF?!?

What is the saying about it when it rains it pours….I came home last night and nothing seemed out of place except in the middle of my bedroom carpet was a leaf. Now it may seem strange that a leaf on my carpet would catch my attention but for some reason it got me thinking. As I looked around my room I noticed a drawer not quite closed correctly. This triggered me to look around my house, I grabbed my large Mag-light and started to go through my house. In my basement I discovered a window in the back of my house had been pushed in. When I looked closer I saw that the window had been pried off of its tracks.

I put the window back together and immediately started a search of my entire house checking all areas as I now knew someone had been and could possibly still be in my house. After an exhaustive search I found no one in my home but did find another window unlatched and my back door unlocked. During my search I noticed my valuables were untouched which caused my to look deeper to make sure I had not missed anything. At this point I think the shock had worn off and I got very angry as I realized my home had been violated.

It looks like the scum must have been scared off because they did not get any of my valuables, they just took my feeling of safety which we all feel in our homes.

Some Random Doggie Thoughts

Some stuff I found while Googling

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you’re not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

They give unconditional love and undying loyalty in return for regular meals and an occasional pat on the head. – Jon Winokur

Decisions

By Anthony, Sunday, October 25, 2009 8:54

Over the past few months I have been wrestling with a decision which I did not want to make but knew I would have to make at some point. Some decisions are easy or seem easy, this one was one of the most difficult decisions I think I have ever had to make.

Yesterday, Saturday October 24th I took Tara to the Vet for the last time. Over the past few months she was getting more and more confused and I believe less aware of her surroundings and people. I was forced to block off the stairs as she would fall down the stairs periodically. As the time went on I begin to see that she was not enjoying a good quality of life but really just surviving.

After almost 15 years together it has been a long journey together and we had some great adventures. While some people would not understand the connection, Tara was a part of my family and a true friend who no matter what was happening in life, no matter what kind of mood I was in, she would give me unconditional love.

Now as I look around my empty, quiet house I am expecting to look over beside me and see her sleeping peacefully. A part of my heart has been ripped out and I have an emptiness which is so painful I am not sure when this pain will fade.

My New Toy, Yes Another One

By Anthony, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 9:45

I recently got a new laptop to replace my dependable Compaq R3240. It took a lot of time for me to decide what would replace my beloved and well used Compaq. I was very worried I would be disappointed but am happy to report that not only am I happy with my choice, it has surpassed my expectations. My new Laptop is a Lenovo T61, Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz with a 15.4″ screen and an NVidea video card.

I was originally going to install Vista but since I have been testing Windows 7 decided to give it a whirl. It installed seamlessly and I found all the required drivers. Overall a very nice system, runs all my software without issues including some games I could not run on my old Compaq.

Now Something to Think About…

By Anthony, Tuesday, August 18, 2009 10:03

I have been collecting Air Miles for several years and have finally surpassed the 10,000 mark. Normally I would use them as fast as I would collect them so it was difficult to accumulate a good number. Now that I have all these Air Miles I have to find a place to go. Cannot let them sit there getting lonely so I am in trip planning mode again. Now where to go, so many choices…..

Another Year Gone

By Anthony, Sunday, August 16, 2009 4:08

As I sat thinking about the date and the Hope Classic which was held yesterday I all of sudden had a realization that yesterday was the anniversary of my Dad’s passing. I have been so busy lately that I have had no time to reflect. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. I usually take some time to reflect but I am disappointed that the date completely escaped me. I guess what they say is so true “Life goes on”

My Brace at 30 Days

By Anthony, Tuesday, June 2, 2009 9:53

I have had my new Richie brace for about a month and I am finally used to wearing it without any soreness. When I put on my shoes I sometimes have to go through some gymnastic moves to slid my foot into my shoe. Once I have my shoe and brace on it literally fits me like a glove or I guess in this case a sock.

I am not sure if the brace is helping me walk any better yet as it may still be a little too soon to expect results. The only issue I have at this point is I can only wear my walking shoes as these are the only ones which the brace fits into properly. Oh well I guess it is a small price to pay if this brace is going help me walk.

Who What Where When?

Great intentions do not make up for no posts. So what have I been up to? Well went on the cruise in early May and then got lost in work and life. The cruise was great, it is hard not to enjoy yourself when you are waited on hand and foot.  I have a few pictures which I will post, I promise really I will post soon.  We enjoyed the cruise so much I am thinking of doing another one in the fall. With the price so reasonable it is hard not to think about another one. Next one I think will be to the Caribbean in October-November, a good time to go south I think.

More to come.
