I was out the other night and someone asked me if there was someplace I had thought about where I would like to live. To be honest I have thought about this and occasionally I find myself browsing web pages looking at places around the world. On the one hand living on a beach with a small house and laid back lifestyle appeals to me. Escape from the world and enjoy a quiet life on my own stretch of beach. Of course I am way too young to be hiding on a beach I still have too much fun and so much travelling I need to do. So this brings me to my next place which would be Paris in a little apartment off the beaten track but close enough that would allow me to get into some mischief and explore what life has to offer. Paris offers so much including the ability to travel throughout Europe with easy access to so many places. Also on my radar is Mykonos one of the Greek islands which I think would offer both a laid back and a wild side and is close enough to some of places I would want to travel.

Now if I figure out where I want to go who wants to be my significant other on my adventure?

My Year in Review 2010

As my birthday has just passed I started to think about the last year and how quickly it has passed and how much has happened. I have written previously about my job and some of the changes that have impacted my life. One of the things which I had to do was put my life on hold and I was not able to travel. Not being able to travel for leisure is probably had the most impact on my well being.

Next year (that is 2011) I have a cruise planned for January and now I have been asked if I want to goto Paris in April to spend a week with a friend. So far I think 2011 is looking up for me.

Paris By Any Other Name!

Paris in the spring time can you ask for anything more? Well do not answer that….Paris is incredible, the post cards just do not do it justice. When you stand on the the top level of the Eiffel Tower you find the view just magnificient. There is so much to see that three days just is not enough time. Louvre is the next stop, time for some more culture.
Hard to believe 1 more day in Europe then the Grand Adventure is over.

Swords, Senoritas and Sangria

Holy Toledo, after a rainy day wandering around the Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace we took the High Speed train to Toledo about 71 kilometers south of Madrid. Toledo is a World Heritage City with the old city dominating the landscape with the impressive Alcazar (fort) and Cathedral as the main attractions. While we were impressed with the old city, the commercialization present took away from the ambiance. In other words we did not appreciate the McDonalds in the old city.

Dinner last night was Tapas and Spanish beer while we enjoyed Paella and a very thick and tasty beef stew for dinner tonight. Next comes Paris the City of Lights, and did I mention pastries MMMM fresh bread in the morning, chocolate crossiants mmmm!

As the Days Pass

Something occurred to me today and for the life of me I do not know why this did not come to me sooner. Since I will be visiting London, Paris, Madrid and Tangier in April and I always enjoy meeting new people, anyone who wants to meet up drop me a line.

On a totally different note I have rediscovered a favorite from my younger years. The other day at Safeway I spotted Pillsbury Wiener Wraps and decided to give them a try again. They did not disappoint, with some hot mustard they make a great snack. Mmmm Mmmm Good.
